5 Riliv Alternatives: Venting & Mental Health Apps (2026)

Search for a "curhat" (venting) or mental-health app in Indonesia and Riliv will almost certainly show up. It's one of the best-known: meditation, sleep stories, journaling, and counselling with psychologists. But needs differ. Some people need a licensed psychologist this week. Others just need a place to let their thoughts out every night.

Here we compare five Riliv alternatives available in Indonesia, including rumputhijau, which we make. To keep it fair, every price and feature below comes straight from each app's official site as of October 2026. Prices change, so check again before signing up.

First: which kind do you need?

Mental-health apps in Indonesia roughly fall into two groups:

  • Counselling with a psychologist or counsellor. Right when things feel heavy, have lasted a long time, or affect your sleep, work, and relationships. Usually paid per session.
  • Daily self-help. For looking after yourself every day: venting, journaling, breathing, noticing your patterns. Usually free or cheap, and not a replacement for a psychologist.

Riliv has both: free self-care (screening, exercises, journaling, an AI assistant) and counselling from Rp49,000 with a counsellor and Rp79,000 with a psychologist. Each alternative below is strong on one side.

1. rumputhijau: free daily venting that finds the meaning

This one is ours, so to be clear up front: rumputhijau is not a counselling service. It's built around one small habit: let out what you feel, then find the meaning in your own story.

  • Write it or say it. Morning or evening, one sentence is enough, or a voice note up to 2 minutes. Recordings aren't stored.
  • Meaning in your own voice. The reply is written from your point of view ("I…"), using CBT techniques, in everyday Indonesian. No lecturing.
  • One small step after every entry. Always one of our research-backed exercises: breathing tested at Stanford, a writing exercise, a puzzle for a looping mind, or a minute of movement.
  • Sprout, a small companion that waits for you. It greets you, cheers when you finish a step, and in the morning tells you a dream about your day.
  • Free, try it 3 times without signing up. Then sign in with Google, still free.

Good for: anyone who finds it hard to open up, overthinks a lot, or has a lot on their mind about work, money, or family, and wants a daily place to vent. Not for: anyone who needs a psychologist. For that, choose one below.

2. Satu Persen: life lessons and counselling

Satu Persen calls itself an education platform teaching "life skills school never taught": psychological tests (some free, including anxiety and burnout), webinars, life coaching, and counselling with psychologists over Google Meet.

  • Price: membership from Rp19,000/month, premium tests from Rp25,000. Counselling package prices are on its sign-up page.
  • Good for: learning through content and tests, or trying life coaching.

3. Ibunda.id: professional psychologists, with a free option

Around since 2015, Ibunda.id says "2.5 million+ stories have been entrusted" to it. It focuses on counselling with psychologists and also offers free counselling, plus the WellMe app and psychological tests.

  • Price: Premium and Free counselling. Check each psychologist's price on its site.
  • Good for: talking to a psychologist on a light budget.

4. KALM: counselling over multi-day chat

KALM is an Indonesia-based counselling platform. Its Ongoing Chat Counselling runs over several days, so you can share at your own pace. The app also has a Gratitude Journal and Wellbeing Tracker.

  • Price: chat, video, and offline counselling from Rp33,000 per day.
  • Good for: anyone more comfortable typing than on a video call.

5. Bicarakan.id: psychologists online and in person

Bicarakan.id offers sessions with licensed psychologists online (WhatsApp or Google Meet) or in person at its "Rumah Bicara" locations around Jakarta. It lists 1,379+ five-star Google reviews.

  • Price: Rp249,000/hour online, Rp399,000/hour in person (promo prices as of October 2026).
  • Good for: in-person sessions in Greater Jakarta, or clear upfront pricing.

In short: which one?

  • A free daily place to vent, with meaning and a small step right away: rumputhijau.
  • Self-care plus counselling in one app: Riliv.
  • Learning through content, tests, and webinars: Satu Persen.
  • A psychologist on a light budget or free: Ibunda.id.
  • Counselling by chat: KALM.
  • In person around Jakarta: Bicarakan.id.

Many people use both kinds: a psychologist once a month, and a self-help app for the days in between.

When to see a psychologist

If heavy feelings have lasted for weeks, or are affecting your sleep, work, or relationships, talk to a psychologist. If you're in danger or thinking of hurting yourself, call Indonesia's Ministry of Health mental-health line at 119 ext. 8.

Try venting now, for free

No sign-up needed. Write or say one sentence about your day, and see the meaning you find in your own story. Let it out, you'll find the meaning.
